Christian Guilmin was born in 1949 in Uccle (Belgium). He is known on three titles: artist, playwrighter and Egyptologist... Meanwhile working in the advertising sector between 1971 and 1976, he indulges in egyptology at the point of becoming an expert and the owner of a collection of over 660 engraved scarabs. Christian Guilmin is also known for his work as playwrighter and stage decorator. As a drawing artist, he is known under the name Malqatta. His work is composed of thousands of drawings, the oldest and most famous being made on a blue Ingre paper no longer manufactured today. He explains :  "I prefer to work from photography, because I sometimes find it hard to concentrate on drawing a naked man facing me."What is important to me is the psychology of the individual, not a robot like the characters of Ulf, or a clone as with Tom of Finland and Etienne. For my part, I am interested in the face, to show fear, surprise, joy or sadness."
